The Port Aransas Nature Preserve at Charlie’s Pasture is over 1,200 acres of undeveloped preserved land housing a variety of both plant and animal life, including many species escaping habitat loss. There are Guided Nature Walks on Saturdays and Nature Trail Yoga on Tuesday’s for those looking for some open air exercise. If you are searching for prime bird watching sites, you can pay a visit to the nearby Aransas Woods. Here you will find official Texas Coastal Birding Trail Site #47, along with a variety of land birds and wildlife. For guests really looking to get up close and personal with the local wildlife, Dolphin Connection Ingleside is your spot. They provide exciting guided boat tours through the Corpus Christi Channel where pods of Bottlenose Dolphins will swim alongside the vessel and be sure to create lasting memories for the whole family.

Nestled just to the south of Aransas Oaks is the pristine Redfish Bay, which is a large triangular complex of channels, islands, and grass flats housing a plethora of local fishing holes including Dagger Island, Big Bayou, Hog Island, Redfish Cove, Lighthouse Lakes, and Turtle Bayou. Sunset Lake Park is situated a bit to the West and is made up of wetlands and a saltwater lake. With this many options, anglers of all types should find somewhere that suits them.

For more than 30 years, the Dolphin Connection has been chartering groups of friends and families looking to get a firsthand look at what life is like for dolphins to live freely, and in their natural habitat.

 

Dolphin Connection is located in Port Aransas, which is located about 30 minutes away from Aransas Pass and will bring you face to face with some of the ocean’s most friendly and playful mammals. Dolphin Connection charges $25 per person plus tax for 1-2 hours on the ocean. Children 12 and under are $20 plus tax.

Aransas Pass Aquatic Center

 

The Aquatic Center is not only a favorite for locals but also the ideal spot for vacationers looking to spend an exciting day outdoors. The Aquatic Center features pools that accommodate kids of all ages and three large water slides.
